Line Process Engineer

About the role

An exciting opportunity has opened for a Line Process Engineer at East Africa Bottling Share Company in Ethiopia. Reporting to the Production Team Leader, you will be responsible for optimizing PET production line performance, ensuring targets for output, quality, equipment reliability and safety are met.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and control PET production processes to achieve quality and efficiency targets.
• Perform line set‑up, start‑up, shutdown and product changeovers following standard operating procedures.
• Collect process data, analyse parameters and implement corrective actions to maintain optimal performance.
• Identify and eliminate causes of waste, losses and quality defects through root‑cause analysis.
• Carry out first‑line maintenance, routine inspections, lubrication and basic repairs on equipment.
• Support planned maintenance and shutdown activities and coordinate with technical teams for abnormal equipment issues.
• Maintain and update operating procedures, work instructions and ensure compliance with SHEQ, GMP and food‑safety requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in beverage or FMCG production.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Ability to work safely, follow LOTO procedures and adhere to all safety and environmental standards.

Required skills

• Understanding of production processes and first‑line maintenance.
• Capability to interpret process data and drive optimisation initiatives.
• Experience with root‑cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
