Medical Representative – Jimma, Ethiopia (M/F)

About the role

The Healthcare Nutrition (Medical Affairs) department of Danone Nutricia Africa is looking for a Medical Representative to be based in Jimma, Ethiopia. You will act as the primary link between our nutrition brands and healthcare professionals, promoting our products and supporting infant and child health across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Visit a defined list of healthcare professionals regularly to build strong relationships and become their preferred brand.
• Organise the presence of Danone Nutricia brands in public and private healthcare institutions, ensuring compliance with local regulations and the WHO Code.
• Use scientific and commercial arguments to encourage professionals to recommend or prescribe our products.
• Communicate effective messages to healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders (KOLs) using appropriate tools.
• Plan and execute events for healthcare professionals, selecting suitable speakers and venues.
• Create and maintain a network of key prescribers and KOLs, and update the professional database.
• Identify business opportunities, monitor competitor activities and propose actions to protect market position.
• Prepare regular activity reports and present action plans aligned with budget and KPIs.

Required profile

• Strong interest in healthcare nutrition and ability to build lasting professional relationships.
• Good understanding of local regulations governing infant formula and medical products.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to convey scientific information clearly.
• Team‑player attitude with willingness to collaborate across sales, medical and compliance teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of scientific and product information related to infant and child nutrition.
• Ability to use standard office tools for reporting and database management.
