Mobile Health & Nutrition Officer

About the role

The Mobile Health & Nutrition Officer will strengthen preparedness and resilience of nutrition services in the Mustahil/Fer‑Fer woreda. Working with local health teams, the officer will lead anticipatory actions to mitigate the impact of shocks such as droughts, floods, conflicts and disease outbreaks.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Woreda Health and Nutrition Team in planning and implementing anticipatory health and nutrition activities.
• Coordinate the health‑nutrition response team, ensuring timely supply of project materials to Primary Health Care Units.
• Establish and lead an effective anticipatory health and nutrition team in the assigned woreda.
• Conduct multi‑sectoral rapid assessments, collect and analyse data to inform interventions.
• Advocate and represent project deliverables with local authorities and partners.
• Ensure quality of maternal and child health services in health facilities according to national guidelines.

Required profile

• Experience in public health, nutrition and emergency response within community settings.
• Knowledge of Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies (IYCF‑E) and Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) approaches.
• Ability to work with multi‑sectoral teams, including WaSH and livelihood sectors.
• Understanding of child safeguarding level 3 requirements.
