Partnerships & Private Sector Engagement Manager

About the role

The Partnerships and Private Sector Engagement Manager will lead the development and implementation of NRC Ethiopia’s partnership strategy, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s vision, localisation agenda and humanitarian principles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update and operationalise the partnership strategy and related SOPs across the country office and area offices.
• Build and maintain relationships with civil society, private sector, academic institutions and public authorities.
• Oversee the full partnership lifecycle – due‑diligence, partner selection, capacity assessments, agreement management, compliance monitoring and audits.
• Support partners to meet donor requirements, reporting deadlines and NRC procedures, providing practical capacity‑building assistance.
• Advise senior staff on strategic partnership decisions and promote knowledge sharing to strengthen localisation.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in humanitarian, recovery, human rights or development contexts.
• University degree with relevant professional background and solid understanding of the Ethiopian civil‑society and private‑sector landscape.
• Fluency in English and Amharic (written and verbal) and strong networking, coordination and facilitation abilities.
• Proven results in private‑sector engagement, partnership management or coordination.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines and maintain attention to detail.

• Duty station in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract (renewable based on performance and funding).
