Project Director – Faith and Community Initiative Project (FCI)

About the role

The Project Director will lead the Faith and Community Initiative (FCI) country program, guiding a multidisciplinary team to achieve health outcomes for vulnerable children. This senior position reports to the Global Management Team and serves as the primary liaison with government, faith‑based partners, and donors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of the FCI country program, ensuring timely, cost‑effective achievement of goals.
• Adapt global guidelines to the local context, develop work plans, set performance targets, and monitor results.
• Uphold the 80/20 efficiency commitment and drive transition toward government and faith‑based ownership.
• Serve as the principal point of contact for the U.S. Embassy, GHSD team, and host‑government ministries.
• Build and maintain partnerships with Christian Health Associations, faith‑based networks, the Global Fund, and other bilateral partners.
• Represent FCI on national steering committees, aligning activities with MOUs and national health strategies.
• Lead high‑level negotiations for the progressive transition of FCI activities, staff, facilities, and data systems to government ownership.
• Coordinate with other PEPFAR/GHSD programs to avoid duplication and ensure alignment with country and global standards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in leading large‑scale health or development programs in low‑resource settings.
• Proven ability to work with government ministries, embassies, and faith‑based organizations.
• Strong track record of managing budgets, performance monitoring, and donor compliance.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
