Senior Program Officer – AI & Digital Health Delivery (3‑year LTE)

About the role

The Senior Program Officer, AI & Digital Health Delivery will lead a multi‑country portfolio of AI‑driven health investments across Africa. Based in Addis Ababa, this limited‑term position supports the Africa Regional Office and the Exemplars in Global Health team to shape evidence‑based digital health solutions that strengthen primary health care.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and manage AI and digital health investments, defining results frameworks, KPIs and monitoring performance.
• Lead due‑diligence, assess affordability, sustainability and government adoption pathways for each investment.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical guidance to country offices on design, procurement, deployment and scaling of AI solutions.
• Facilitate bidirectional learning between global research teams and on‑the‑ground country delivery.
• Contribute to AI and digital health strategy development and internal committees.

Required profile

• Technical expertise in AI and digital health systems.
• Deep understanding of primary health‑care delivery and health‑systems programming in low‑ and middle‑income countries.
• Passion for evidence‑based health outcomes and innovative technology.
