Senior Risk and Compliance Officer (Africa CDC)

About the role

The Africa Centres for Disease Control (Africa CDC) is seeking a Senior Risk and Compliance Officer to enhance its enterprise risk management, internal controls, and compliance frameworks. Reporting to the Head of the Office of Internal Oversight, you will support the organization’s mandate to ensure sound governance, accountability, and stewardship of resources across its public‑health programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, operationalise and continuously improve the risk and compliance management framework in line with donor, regulatory and international standards.
• Identify, assess, monitor and report enterprise and operational risks.
• Strengthen compliance and ethics controls and support internal control reviews.
• Coordinate oversight activities with audit, investigations, risk management and compliance functions.
• Provide assurance and advisory support to business units and senior leadership.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit or related fields.
• Proven experience in a senior risk or compliance role within a public‑sector or international organisation.
• Knowledge of donor requirements, regulatory frameworks and internationally recognised risk‑management standards.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to work under the supervision of the Head of Internal Oversight.
