About the role
The Technical Director will provide overall technical leadership for the Faith and Community Initiative (FCI) integrated health program in Ethiopia. This senior position translates strategy, award requirements, and government priorities into sound implementation approaches across multiple health components.
Key responsibilities
- Lead design, planning, and adaptation of the integrated health program, aligning with FCI strategy, PEPFAR expectations, and Ethiopian government priorities.
- Integrate HIV, TB, MNCH, nutrition, community health, primary health care, and health‑system strengthening across facilities, community platforms, faith‑based organisations and government structures.
- Establish technical standards, quality‑assurance mechanisms, SOPs, tools, mentorship models and continuous quality‑improvement processes.
- Monitor technical performance, identify gaps in service quality, coverage and referral, and drive corrective actions.
- Engage senior technical partners including the Federal Ministry of Health, regional health bureaus and local implementing partners to ensure alignment with national policies.
- Lead technical capacity assessments, coaching, mentorship, training and knowledge transfer for partners.
- Collaborate with the MEL manager to promote data‑driven decision‑making and adaptive programming.
Required profile
- Proven senior leadership experience in integrated health programmes.
- Strong understanding of Ethiopian health system priorities and PEPFAR requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work with government ministries, regional health bureaus and multiple partners.
- Experience in establishing technical standards, quality‑assurance and continuous improvement processes.
- Ability to foster a culture of evidence‑based decision‑making.
