Accountant

About the role

MAFI MAFI is seeking a full‑time Accountant to join its Addis Ababa workshop. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day financial operations of a sustainable fashion social enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Record transactions, maintain the general ledger, and prepare invoices.
• Process payments and manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Reconcile bank and cash accounts on a regular basis.
• Assist with monthly and annual financial reporting and support audit activities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and expense monitoring for production and operations.
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax regulations and cost‑tracking requirements.
• Collaborate with management to provide clear financial insights for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Strong accounting fundamentals and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are a plus.
• Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently on‑site.
• Effective communication and collaboration with operations, production, and management teams.
