About the role
The Agribusiness Advisor will support SNV Ethiopia’s flagship youth employment programme by strengthening livestock, horticulture and crop value chains. The role focuses on creating sustainable, inclusive economic opportunities for rural young women and improving the resilience of agricultural markets to climate challenges.
Key responsibilities
- Strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of livestock and crop‑based market systems in the assigned cluster.
- Enhance value chains and foster enterprise growth for smallholder producers.
- Build local capacity through training, mentorship and facilitation of gender‑equitable practices.
- Translate programme strategies into tangible, inclusive results at the cluster level.
- Monitor and report on market development outcomes, ensuring they are productive, profitable and climate‑adapted.
Required profile
- Passion for creating entrepreneurial opportunities for rural youth, especially young women.
- Understanding of market‑systems development and gender equity principles.
- Commitment to addressing systemic barriers in agricultural value chains.
- Ability to work collaboratively with NGOs, local partners and community stakeholders.
