Assistant Operator

About the role

The Assistant Operator supports daily production activities in a fast‑paced FMCG environment. Working on‑site in Addis Ababa, you will ensure that machines are ready, safe, and operating according to standard operating procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Verify machine safety devices, cleanliness, and proper PPE before each shift.
• Confirm raw material availability and compliance with company standards.
• Set machine parameters (current, temperature, pressure, speed) according to the recipe.
• Operate the equipment following SOPs, including emergency stop procedures.
• Monitor production, log output, downtime, and waste.
• Report any abnormal sounds, defects, or issues immediately to the Production Team Leader.
• Assist maintenance personnel with repairs and ensure product protection.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience as an operator in an FMCG or similar production setting.
• Basic digital literacy and accurate record‑keeping skills.
• Level‑II industrial Electrical Machine Drive education or related field of study.
• Strong communication, ability to work under pressure, and a calm approach to stressful situations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheets, documents, and email.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical machine drive systems.
• Understanding of safety protocols and SOP compliance.
