Auto Technician

About the role

The Auto Technician is responsible for executing preventive and corrective maintenance on forklifts and related equipment, ensuring safety, quality, and on‑time delivery. The role works closely with the garage team leader, forklift operators, and shift supervisors to keep the fleet operational and compliant with standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute all planned preventive maintenance tasks safely and on‑time, following legal and company standards.
• Perform repairs on damaged forklift parts and conduct breakdown analysis.
• Monitor and calibrate PDS equipment, battery charging stations, and related tools.
• Lead tagging/detagging activities, CILT execution, and visual‑management initiatives such as Poke, Yoke, and CBM.
• Support operators with troubleshooting, inspections, and tightening after CILT work.
• Collect and report maintenance data, MTBF registration, and technical/administrative documentation.
• Participate in RCFA (5‑why) investigations, BDA, and continuous‑improvement teams.
• Maintain 5S standards, hygiene, and shop‑floor safety procedures (LSR/LOTO).

Required profile

• Advanced Diploma or higher in Auto Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial or forklift maintenance.
• Successful completion of Level 1 Technician assessments and mandatory KPI targets.
• E‑learning certificate in maintenance and compliance with safety standards.
• Proficiency with Windows, Office, and Maximo maintenance software.
