Branch Accountant & Branch Manager – Microfinance

About the role

Bilal Microfinance Institution S.C. is seeking a Branch Accountant and a Branch Manager to support its interest‑free, Sharia‑compliant microfinance operations. The accountant will handle financial records for branches in Welkite and Addis Ababa, while the manager will lead the Addis Ababa branch, overseeing loan processing, portfolio management, and customer relations.

Key responsibilities

• Branch Accountant: maintain accurate accounting records, prepare financial reports, perform reconciliations, process payments and receipts, ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements, and support branch operations.
• Branch Manager: plan and supervise overall branch activities, lead loan processing and savings mobilization, achieve business targets, approve loans and payments within delegated authority, supervise cash controls, prepare operational and financial reports, and develop relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Branch Accountant: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (or College Diploma with 2 years experience). Experience in a microfinance institution is a plus.
• Branch Manager: BA (or MBA) in Management, Accounting, Banking & Finance or related field from a recognized institution. Minimum 4 years (BA) or 3 years (MBA) relevant experience, preferably in microfinance, banking or insurance.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with computer applications (e.g., MS Office/Excel).
