Chief Financial Officer – Ethiopia & Djibouti

About the role

The Cluster Chief Financial Officer will act as the finance leader for AGL Logistics’ entities in Ethiopia and will supervise the CFO in Djibouti. Reporting to the Cluster CEO, the CFO ensures financial integrity, strategic oversight, and alignment of financial strategies with regional business priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise finance teams in Ethiopia and oversee the CFO in Djibouti, validating payments, cash management and purchases.
• Monitor accounting processes, perform monthly reconciliations and safeguard assets through strong controls.
• Analyze monthly results, investigate budget variances and provide cost‑analysis insights to operational teams.
• Lead budget preparation, capital‑expenditure monitoring and deliver consolidated financial reporting for both countries.
• Implement and maintain internal control frameworks, ensure compliance with local regulations and coordinate external audits.
• Lead, develop and structure finance teams, manage recruitment, training and performance.
• Act as primary interface with banks and external stakeholders, supporting day‑to‑day financial decisions.
• Travel regularly to Djibouti to fulfil supervisory responsibilities.
