Consultancy on Integrated Climate, Biodiversity, Blue and Circular Economy Action towards COP32

About the role

The Economic Commission for Africa seeks a consultant to support integrated climate, biodiversity, blue and circular economy actions in preparation for UNFCCC COP32. The role will strengthen analytical products, policy analysis and stakeholder coordination to advance Africa’s climate and sustainable development priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on emerging policy issues at the intersection of climate change, biodiversity, blue economy, circular economy and sustainable development.
• Prepare analytical reports, policy briefs, background papers, technical notes and other knowledge products.
• Provide substantive inputs to ongoing ECA analytical and policy work and identify new research areas.
• Monitor developments in international, continental and regional policy processes and assess their implications.
• Support preparation and delivery of stakeholder consultations, technical meetings, workshops and strategic engagements.
• Coordinate knowledge exchange among African and international stakeholders and develop strategic partnerships.
• Prepare briefing materials, talking points, concept notes and other documents for COP32 and related processes.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in research and analysis of climate, biodiversity, blue economy and circular economy policy issues.
• Proven ability to produce analytical reports, policy briefs, background papers and technical notes.
• Familiarity with international, continental and regional policy processes related to climate and sustainable development.
