Country Programme Analyst – Addis Ababa

About the role

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is seeking a Country Programme Analyst to support its Ethiopia portfolio from its Addis Ababa office. The analyst will contribute to IFAD’s mission of eradicating rural poverty by coordinating programme activities, monitoring budgets, and providing analytical support to the Country Director.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day administrative and reporting support to the Country Director.
• Analyse budget proposals, monitor expenditures, and track grant portfolios.
• Collect, clean, and analyse data on programme performance and international best practices.
• Prepare inputs for programme design, implementation, and evaluation.
• Support the preparation of reports for IFAD headquarters and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• National of Ethiopia, as required for National Professional Officer (NPO) positions.
• Experience in programme or project coordination within development or agricultural contexts.
• Strong understanding of IFAD’s mandate and rural development issues.
• Ability to work with government, private sector, and development partners.
