Creative Director

About the role

Lumen Communications is seeking a Creative Director to lead the creative vision for client projects in Addis Ababa. This full‑time, on‑site position guides concept development from brief to final delivery, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Direct multidisciplinary creative teams and oversee the production of visual and written concepts.
• Review, refine, and provide feedback on designs to elevate quality and storytelling.
• Collaborate with account and strategy teams, participate in client meetings and presentations.
• Ensure consistent branding across campaigns and channels.
• Mentor creative staff, manage workloads, deadlines, and resource allocation.
• Contribute to new‑business pitches and help define internal creative standards.

Required profile

• Proven ability to provide strong creative direction and develop multi‑channel creative strategies.
• Experience in branding, including identity development, positioning, and visual systems.
• Hands‑on graphic design expertise and familiarity with industry‑standard design and prototyping tools.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience in an agency or in‑house environment.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills for client and internal audiences.
• Solid understanding of marketing fundamentals and how creative work supports business goals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Communications, Advertising, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work on‑site in Addis Ababa, manage multiple projects, and meet fast‑paced deadlines.
• Experience with regional or international brands and diverse cultural perspectives is a plus.
