Digital Health Systems Instructional Designer Consultant

About the role

Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL) is seeking a full‑time consultant to design and deliver learning solutions for Ethiopia’s Public Health Emergency Management (PHEM) digital platforms, including ePHEM and DHIS2. The five‑month engagement will be based in Addis Ababa and will focus on translating complex technical content into engaging, scalable training materials.

Key responsibilities

• Convert ePHEM and DHIS2 technical documentation into modular, learner‑centered instructional packages using adult learning principles.
• Develop interactive self‑paced e‑learning modules, video tutorials, and printable visual guides that accommodate varying connectivity levels.
• Collaborate with public‑health experts, data engineers, and training teams to ensure content accuracy and alignment with current system functionality.
• Review, edit, and repurpose existing multimedia assets (videos, screenshots, photographs) for instructional use.
• Support knowledge‑management practices and devise methods to monitor platform utilization and user engagement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in instructional design for technical or health‑related subjects.
• Familiarity with digital health platforms such as ePHEM and DHIS2.
• Ability to work independently as an independent contractor and obtain a local business license if needed.
• Strong communication skills and capacity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills
