Economic Recovery Project Manager (Maternity Cover)

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking an Economic Recovery Project Manager on a maternity‑cover basis to lead and supervise its Economic Recovery programmes in Aba'ala, Mekelle and Sheraro. The role provides strategic direction, ensures timely implementation of projects and supports the team across Tigray and Afar.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership, management and technical direction for the Economic Recovery programme in Afar and Tigray.
• Supervise and mentor programme staff, conduct performance evaluations and deliver training as needed.
• Lead all phases of the project cycle, including proposal development, budgeting, monitoring and reporting.
• Coordinate with MEAL focal points to ensure timely monitoring, data collection and impact assessment.
• Develop concept notes, logical frameworks and identify strong local partners for future opportunities.
• Maintain confidentiality of beneficiary data and uphold professional standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing economic recovery or similar humanitarian programmes.
• Strong knowledge of project cycle management, budgeting and donor reporting.
• Ability to lead teams, provide coaching and ensure high‑quality implementation.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with partners and stakeholders.
• Commitment to confidentiality and beneficiary dignity.
