Financial Inclusion Advisor

About the role

SNV Ethiopia is seeking a Cluster Financial Inclusion Advisor to lead the financial inclusion strategy for rural young women within a flagship youth employment program. The role focuses on removing barriers to financial services, strengthening savings groups, and building partnerships with financial institutions and digital providers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct local assessments to identify financial access barriers for young women, persons with disabilities, and returnees.
• Establish and strengthen youth savings groups (YSLAs) across the assigned cluster.
• Develop and negotiate market‑oriented financial products with banks, micro‑finance institutions, and digital service providers.
• Build capacity of field staff and local financial providers on inclusive finance practices.
• Design and implement monitoring systems to track financial inclusion outcomes.
• Document progress, prepare reports, and represent the project in local forums.
• Ensure all activities comply with gender equity, safeguarding, and donor guidelines.

Required profile

• Experience in financial inclusion, especially in rural or agricultural contexts.
• Knowledge of gender equity and social inclusion principles.
• Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including NGOs, financial institutions, and community groups.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
