Food Security and Livelihood Officer

About the role

The Food Security and Livelihood Officer will lead the day‑to‑day implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Save the Children’s food security and livelihoods (FSL) project in the assigned woredas. The role ensures that beneficiary selection, cash distribution, and community engagement are carried out according to programme standards and child‑rights principles.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, follow up, monitor and evaluate FSL programme activities.
• Coordinate with local government, line ministries, community facilitators and implementing partners.
• Ensure correct beneficiary selection procedures and criteria are applied.
• Collect, document and respond to beneficiary feedback, escalating issues when needed.
• Support planning and execution of cash distribution and other livelihood interventions.
• Train data collectors on PDM and price‑monitoring tools and verify data quality.
• Prepare regular progress reports, monthly and quarterly monitoring plans, and annual project reports.
• Incorporate child‑rights considerations into all programme actions.
• Organise community sensitisation meetings on project purpose and modalities.
• Maintain accurate beneficiary lists and distribution documentation.
