International Consultant – Co‑Editor for African Migration Report III

About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking an experienced consultant to serve as co‑editor for the third edition of the African Migration Report (AMR III). The role involves shaping evidence‑based migration narratives across Africa and supporting policy‑making at national, regional and continental levels.
Key responsibilities
- Lead editorial work for AMR III, ensuring rigorous research, analysis and clear presentation.
- Coordinate with the African Union Commission, Regional Economic Communities, AfDB and other partners to gather data and insights.
- Develop thematic chapters on migration governance, trade, labour mobility and development impacts.
- Produce actionable recommendations for policymakers, programme designers and investors.
- Maintain a consistent, Africa‑centred perspective throughout the report.
Required profile
- Proven experience in migration research, policy analysis or related fields.
- Strong understanding of African migration dynamics and regional institutions.
- Excellent written communication and editing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑stakeholder teams across continents.
