Junior Procurement Officer

About the role

The Junior Procurement Officer will support the procurement unit of Amhara Bank S.C., ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services that meet quality standards and the bank’s internal controls. This entry‑level position offers the opportunity to develop procurement expertise within a banking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in all procurement activities, including preparing purchase documents, collecting specifications, and coordinating with user departments and the IT department for electronic items.
• Maintain accurate procurement files, supplier databases, and market price records.
• Conduct market assessments and support direct purchases when authorized.
• Ensure delivery of purchased items to stores with proper documentation and prepare payment documents for processing.
• Lodge claims with suppliers, follow up on defective items or shortages, and settle advance payments promptly.
• Provide regular reports on procurement plans, performance, and compliance with the bank’s internal control and risk management policies.
• Uphold the bank’s code of conduct, corporate image, and service level agreements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least one year of relevant experience, preferably within the banking sector.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork orientation, and adherence to internal controls.

Required skills

• Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
• Familiarity with import and procurement management practices.
