Managing Director, Services

About the role

OpenFn is seeking a Managing Director, Services to lead the full portfolio of delivery work, from project‑based implementations to subscription‑based expert‑day services for governments and NGOs. This senior role will shape the transition to a subscription‑centered delivery model while ensuring financial sustainability and high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Services leadership team, including hiring, performance management and career development for senior leads.
• Maintain the operating rhythm (OKRs, review cadences, portfolio check‑ins) to keep Services focused on financial sustainability and delivery quality.
• Champion adoption of the Implementation Playbook, productisation efforts and AI tooling across the team.
• Partner with the Head of Product to align service delivery with platform evolution and provide continuous feedback.
• Support the Growth team in pre‑sale scoping, pricing and deal negotiations, delivering technical sign‑off and flagging over‑commitment risks.
• Serve as a trusted technical and strategic advisor to government ministries, NGOs and implementation partners on digital transformation and AI adoption.
• Own delivery‑side financial accountability for the Services portfolio, monitoring gross margin, operating costs and SLA performance.
• Design, validate and operationalise the shift to a subscription‑based delivery and revenue model, contributing to pricing, scoping frameworks and delivery playbooks.
