MEAL Coordinator – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Coordinator will support all programmes delivered through the Bale Field Office, ensuring that monitoring, evaluation and accountability activities meet Save the Children standards and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a work plan to roll out the MEAL system at programme and field‑office levels.
• Provide technical support to programme staff for designing and executing M&E plans and tools.
• Collect, collate and organise monitoring data, generate regular reports and communicate findings.
• Conduct qualitative M&E using participatory and child‑friendly methodologies, and support surveys, baselines and evaluations.
• Implement accountability mechanisms, manage complaints, and ensure timely referral of serious concerns.
• Deliver capacity‑building sessions for staff and partners on MEAL tools and the PRIME system.
• Facilitate learning activities, such as lessons‑learned workshops and knowledge‑sharing events.

Required profile

• Experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning within humanitarian or development programmes.
• Familiarity with Save the Children MEAL frameworks and donor reporting requirements.
• Ability to work closely with programme managers, partners and field staff.
• Level 3 child safeguarding clearance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the PRIME MEAL system.
• Qualitative research methods and participatory data collection techniques.
• Design and use of monitoring tools and methodologies.
• Report writing and data analysis for programme performance.
