Principal Online Channels System Engineering Officer

About the role

The Principal Online Channels System Engineering Officer will lead the installation, configuration and readiness of internet and mobile banking applications for Dashen Bank’s customers in Addis Ababa. Reporting to the digital channels team, the role ensures that the bank’s online services are reliable, secure and aligned with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and make internet/mobile banking applications available over the bank’s network and infrastructure.
• Design, implement and test solutions for digital channel products, including online banking.
• Own customer incidents from detection to resolution, adhering to Service Level Agreements.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate banking channels with third‑party systems such as Core Banking System (CBS) and ERP.
• Manage system capacity, storage forecasting and lifecycle planning to meet business demand.
• Maintain security standards, risk management practices and data‑privacy compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum six years of experience in system engineering and software management.
• Strong interpersonal and cross‑cultural communication skills.
• Demonstrated professionalism, integrity and customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work creatively, maintain quality focus and manage risks.
