Professor of Biotechnology (2 positions)

About the role

The Department of Biotechnology at Shaggar Institute of Technology is looking for two dynamic professors to lead and coordinate its biotechnology program. The successful candidates will work alongside international faculty, deliver high‑quality instruction, and drive curriculum development on virtual and hybrid platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and continuously improve the Biotechnology curriculum in line with international (ABET) standards.
• Coordinate virtual teaching programs with faculty from the United States, Europe, and other regions.
• Oversee course material quality, monitor student progress, and ensure compliance with accreditation requirements.
• Supervise student projects and integrate cutting‑edge research and industry innovations into teaching.
• Participate in departmental and institutional governance through academic committees.
• Develop collaborations with national and international research and technology organizations.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Academic or research experience at the rank of Associate Professor or higher.
• Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience in an academic setting.
• Strong record of teaching, research, and mentorship.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with biological databases and standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite).
• Experience using bioinformatics tools such as BLAST, SnapGene, TASSEL, R, Python, and SPSS.
• Hands‑on expertise with molecular and analytical technologies: PCR/qPCR, NGS, flow cytometry, chromatography, mass spectrometry, and automated laboratory systems.
