Program Officer – Eye Health Project Coordinator

About the role

The Program Officer – Eye Health Project Coordinator will be the primary operational focal point for the "Seeing the Future" initiative, a three‑year project aimed at strengthening inclusive ophthalmic services across several Ethiopian regions. Based in Addis Ababa, the role involves extensive field travel to oversee implementation, monitoring and reporting of project activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and regularly update detailed annual work plans, activity schedules and procurement plans in line with the project document and donor requirements.
• Coordinate and supervise field‑level implementation of all activities across Oromia, Sidama, Central Ethiopia, South Ethiopia and Amhara.
• Monitor project progress, ensure quality standards, and prepare timely reports for the Program Director and partners.
• Facilitate collaboration with regional eye‑health teams, partner hospitals, government health offices and CBM Ethiopia.
• Manage procurement processes, logistics and resource allocation to support project objectives.

Required profile

• Strong background in project management, preferably within health or disability‑inclusive programmes.
• Demonstrated experience in coordinating multi‑regional activities and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent organizational, planning and reporting skills.
• Commitment to inclusive development and reducing preventable blindness.
