Project Associate (Reintegration) – Consultant (4 positions)

About the role

Under the supervision of the Senior Project Associate, the consultant will support the implementation of reintegration projects for returnees in Ethiopia and provide assistance to other protection projects as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct individual meetings with eligible returnees to assess needs and develop integrated reintegration plans.
• Coordinate with sending missions to confirm eligibility, validate plans, and oversee payment of assistance.
• Refer migrants to specialized services and conduct regular case follow‑up and monitoring.
• Maintain case files, update tracking tools and ensure accurate data entry in IOM’s MiMOSA system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, management, social work, international relations or related field, with at least three years relevant experience (or diploma with five years experience).
• Experience working with migrants, refugees, IDPs or trafficking victims, providing counseling and referral pathways.
• Proven ability to establish strong working relations with government counterparts and partners.
• Understanding of return and reintegration, AVRR schemes or livelihood/protection programming.

Required skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Amharic (oral and written).
• Organizational and planning abilities; capacity to work independently under pressure.
• Ability to supervise and collaborate with colleagues from diverse cultures.
