Raw Materials Section Head

About the role

Our client, a leading manufacturing company in Addis Ababa, is seeking an experienced Raw Materials Section Head. The role is responsible for overseeing raw materials, spare parts, packaging supplies, and overall warehouse inventory to ensure uninterrupted production.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and control raw materials, spare parts, packaging materials and warehouse operations.
• Monitor critical stock levels and set minimum/maximum thresholds to avoid production delays.
• Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, packing lists, invoices and specifications.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Technical and Quality teams to ensure material quality and timely replenishment.
• Maintain accurate receiving, counting, weighing, recording and storage of all items.
• Authorize material issuance based on proper documentation and requisitions.
• Keep bin cards, stock ledgers, inventory records and ERP data up‑to‑date.
• Coordinate periodic physical inventories and reconcile discrepancies.
• Manage scrap, obsolete items and packaging containers according to company procedures.
• Support internal and external audits by providing complete warehouse documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in raw materials management, inventory control or warehouse supervision.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and material verification.
• Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams such as Procurement, Engineering and Quality.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
