Senior Data Center and Core System Officer

About the role

Senior Data Center and Core System Officer responsible for managing and maintaining enterprise IT systems, ensuring performance, security, and compliance within Bunna Bank’s head office in Addis Ababa.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain enterprise IT systems, including servers, storage systems, and hardware.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot operating systems, hardware, software, and network issues.
• Implement and enforce security policies and access controls.
• Oversee data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Support system upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal downtime.
• Manage user access, permissions, and authentication systems such as Active Directory and LDAP.
• Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Required profile

• First Degree/2nd degree (BSc) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• High operational accuracy and strict adherence to NBE standards.

Required skills

• Experience in virtualization technologies (Oracle LDOM, Nutanix, VMware).
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Unix based systems administration (Oracle Solaris, Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat).
• Strong knowledge of networking.
• Experience in Microsoft Windows Server administration.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Storage Area Network (SAN) and Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI).
• Experience with automation tools (a plus).
• Relevant certifications are desirable.
