Senior Exploration Geologist

About the role

The Senior Exploration Geologist will lead field‑based geological programs in Ethiopia, supporting regional exploration and project evaluation. Based in Addis Ababa, this full‑time position works closely with geoscience, engineering and operations teams to drive sustainable mineral discovery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise geological mapping campaigns across target areas.
• Oversee drilling operations, core recovery, and detailed core logging.
• Design and manage geochemical sampling programs and ensure high‑quality laboratory analysis.
• Interpret geological, structural and geochemical data to update resource models.
• Prepare technical reports, maps, presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor junior geologists and manage contractors while enforcing safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to shape exploration strategies and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or a related discipline.
• Several years of progressive mineral exploration experience, preferably on hard‑rock or metals projects.
• Proven ability to lead field teams, manage contractors and uphold safety best practices.
• Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
