Senior Finance Coordinator

About the role

The Senior Finance Coordinator will lead financial management and support programme operations for field offices in Addis Ababa. Reporting to the Area Manager with a dotted‑line to the Head of Financial Controls, the role ensures that financial planning, reporting and risk mitigation are aligned with organisational policies and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with area and field finance teams to develop and communicate monthly and year‑end spending plans.
• Track spending, monitor operational KPIs and manage financial gaps across field offices.
• Assist field offices in preparing master budgets and support the decentralisation of financial processes.
• Provide training to budget holders and build capacity within operational teams.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, donor and statutory requirements.
• Oversee timely submission of high‑quality monthly summary accounts, cash‑flow reports and other financial information.
• Mentor senior finance officers, identify capacity gaps and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Significant experience in finance coordination or similar roles within NGOs or international organisations.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting and compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage financial risk.
• Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills.
• Fluency in English and willingness to travel domestically as required.
