Senior Finance Coordinator

About the role

The Senior Finance Coordinator is responsible for the overall financial management and operational support of the Area Office and its field offices. Reporting to the Area Manager and working closely with the Head of Financial Controls and Compliance, the role ensures financial plans are aligned with program objectives and that risks are effectively mitigated.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with area and field office leaders to develop and monitor monthly and annual spending plans.
• Support the preparation of master budgets, track spending, and ensure adherence to financial controls and donor requirements.
• Monitor financial gaps, control non‑transferable costs, and provide regular updates on operational KPIs.
• Facilitate BvA meetings and coordinate performance reviews with field and area office managers.
• Ensure timely, high‑quality monthly summary accounts, cash‑flow reports, and compliance with accounting timetables.
• Mentor senior finance officers, identify capacity gaps, and organize training for operational teams.
• Champion accurate coding and budgeting practices across the area office.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial management within an international or humanitarian context.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance frameworks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with program and finance teams to achieve objectives.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
