Senior Internist – Specialist

About the role

New Leaf Medical Complex is seeking a highly qualified Senior Internist (Specialist) to deliver comprehensive internal medicine care to adult patients. The role combines clinical leadership, complex case management, and mentorship of junior staff in a modern hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow‑up for acute, chronic and complex adult medical conditions.
• Interpret laboratory, imaging and other investigations to establish accurate diagnoses and adjust treatment plans.
• Lead multidisciplinary case discussions, offer specialist consultations and ensure continuity of care across departments.
• Mentor junior physicians and residents, contribute to teaching activities and promote clinical best practices.
• Participate in emergency care, on‑call duties and hospital coverage as required.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation using HMIS/EMR and engage in quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• MD or equivalent medical degree and specialist qualification in Internal Medicine.
• Valid Ethiopian professional registration and specialist licence.
• 4–5 years of specialist experience in internal medicine, preferably in a hospital or medical centre.
• Proven ability to manage complex adult cases and work within multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HMIS/EMR systems for clinical documentation.
• Interpretation of laboratory and diagnostic investigations.
