Senior Program Officer, Health Systems Strengthening - Health Financing and Supply Chain (6 Months LTE)

About the role

The Senior Program Officer will lead the development and management of a portfolio of strategic investments aimed at strengthening primary health care in Ethiopia through health financing, pharmaceutical systems, and supply chain management. This is a 6‑month limited‑term position based in Addis Ababa, working closely with the Government of Ethiopia, donors, and implementing partners.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee grants and contracts that advance health financing, pharmaceutical systems, and supply chain objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and strategic analysis to support the Foundation’s health systems goals.
• Engage with ministries, national health financing bodies, and regulatory agencies to ensure alignment with country priorities.
• Represent the Foundation in national and global technical forums and cultivate strategic partnerships.
• Contribute to shaping the Foundation’s strategy in health financing and supply chain management at the country level.

Required profile

• Senior health‑systems professional with deep expertise in health financing, health economics, pharmaceutical systems, and supply chain management.
• Proven experience working alongside Ministries of Health and national health financing, regulatory, or supply‑chain institutions.
• Prior experience in Ethiopia or similar low‑resource settings is strongly preferred.
