Senior QA Engineer

About the role

Ablaze Labs is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join its on‑site team in Addis Ababa. You will be responsible for guaranteeing the reliability and quality of both web and mobile software products through comprehensive testing and process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, execute, and maintain test plans and test cases for web and mobile applications.
• Perform manual functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Document test results, report defects, and track issues.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to analyse root causes and drive quality improvements.
• Participate in code and requirements reviews from a quality perspective.
• Mentor junior QA team members on best practices.

Required profile

• Strong background in software testing across multiple platforms.
• Solid QA experience with a focus on process improvement and adherence to best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior experience in a senior or lead QA role, preferably in a product‑oriented or startup environment.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate clearly with cross‑functional teams.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Addis Ababa.
