Social Media Manager

About the role

Walta Technologies is seeking a dynamic Social Media Manager to lead its online presence in Addis Ababa. You will be responsible for crafting and executing social media strategies that boost brand awareness and engage target audiences across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, create and publish engaging content on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and other channels.
• Schedule posts, monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages in a timely manner.
• Optimize content for reach and performance using platform best practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align social media activities with broader marketing campaigns and product announcements.
• Track and analyze key performance indicators, preparing regular reports on audience growth, engagement rates and campaign effectiveness.
• Stay up‑to‑date with social media trends, competitor activity and emerging tools to recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven ability to plan and execute social media marketing campaigns.
• Strong written communication skills with experience creating concise, engaging posts and captions.
• Organizational ability to manage multiple campaigns and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Previous experience in the technology or GPS sector is an advantage.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience managing brand accounts on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.
• Knowledge of social media optimization (SMO) techniques.
• Basic understanding of social media analytics tools and ability to interpret metrics.
