Technical Manager – Medical & Pharmaceutical Imports

About the role

The Technical Manager will lead the technical and regulatory functions of a growing Ethiopian medical and pharmaceutical import company. This role ensures compliance with Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority (EFDA) requirements while supporting product importation, registration, and business expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all technical and regulatory affairs for imported medical and pharmaceutical products.
• Maintain and renew the company’s EFDA license and related documentation.
• Coordinate product registration, renewal, and regulatory submissions with EFDA.
• Review technical dossiers and product documents from international suppliers.
• Liaise with EFDA and other regulatory bodies on compliance matters.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise management on impact.
• Support identification and introduction of new products and business opportunities.
• Ensure proper documentation, quality standards, and regulatory compliance across operations.
• Provide technical guidance to management and staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical products, or related healthcare industry.
• Valid EFDA license and qualifications to act as a Technical Manager.
• Educational background in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, or a closely related field.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian pharmaceutical and medical product regulations.
• Fluency in English; Amharic knowledge is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
