Technical Officer – National Immunization Advisory Group

About the role

The National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) Technical Officer will provide dedicated technical, administrative and operational support to Ethiopia's NITAG Secretariat. The role strengthens evidence‑based decision‑making for vaccine selection, schedule development and resource prioritisation within the Ministry of Health.

Key responsibilities

• Support the NITAG in analysing immunization data, synthesising evidence and drafting policy recommendations.
• Coordinate the preparation of technical outputs, meeting materials and follow‑up actions for NITAG sessions.
• Assist the Immunization Service Desk in monitoring vaccine introduction, optimization and program improvement initiatives.
• Maintain documentation, manage conflict‑of‑interest disclosures and ensure transparency of the advisory process.
• Liaise with WHO technical advisors and other partners to strengthen the Secretariat’s capacity.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in public health, epidemiology, health policy or a related field.
• Experience working in national immunization programmes, vaccine policy or health‑sector advisory bodies.
• Strong analytical abilities and familiarity with evidence‑based decision frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
