Workshop Manager

About the role

The Workshop Manager leads the maintenance department responsible for vehicles and heavy machinery. You will ensure that all workshop activities meet safety, quality and regulatory standards while maximizing fleet availability.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and execute preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance programmes.
• Maintain workshop safety, environmental compliance and proper use of tools and facilities.
• Develop maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and optimise fleet reliability.
• Control maintenance budgets, work orders, spare‑parts inventory and workshop resources.
• Supervise, train and evaluate maintenance personnel; monitor team KPIs.
• Inspect repair quality, troubleshoot technical issues and implement corrective actions for recurring failures.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment, spare parts and inventory; prepare performance reports.
• Coordinate with Operations, Procurement and Stores to ensure timely availability of vehicles, parts and materials.
• Recommend process improvements to reduce costs and enhance fleet efficiency.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years in a managerial position.
• Strong knowledge of workshop management best practices and relevant legislative requirements.
• Proven ability to develop strategic plans, drive innovation and make effective decisions.
