Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Accountant to join our team in Addis Ababa. The role involves managing daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with Ethiopian tax and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting transactions, maintain the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash records.
• Prepare journal entries, invoices, payment vouchers and conduct bank, cash, supplier and customer reconciliations.
• Support preparation and filing of Ethiopian tax declarations, including VAT, withholding tax and payroll obligations.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports and assist with internal and external audits.
• Maintain fixed asset and inventory accounting records and strengthen internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Good knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations and statutory reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical and organisational abilities.

Required skills

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Practical experience with ERP systems or accounting software.
