Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will support the finance function by managing day‑to‑day accounting activities, recording transactions, preparing journal entries, and maintaining accurate ledgers. The role is full‑time and based in Addis Ababa, with on‑site work at the company offices.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Reconcile bank and cash accounts, prepare periodic financial reports, and support budgeting and cost tracking for projects.
• Coordinate with project managers and procurement teams to maintain organized financial documentation for audits and internal reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in construction engineering or project‑based companies is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy in numerical work, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a project‑based environment.

Required skills

• Double‑entry bookkeeping and general ledger management.
• Accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and cash handling.
• Proficiency with accounting software (ERP or standard packages) and Excel.
• Knowledge of local tax laws, regulatory compliance, and basic cost accounting for projects.
