Aluminum Frame Technician

About the role

A client of Shugulika Africa Limited is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented aluminum frame technician/installer to support aluminum and glass fabrication and installation operations. The role covers accurate site measurements, workshop fabrication and on-site installation of aluminum doors, windows, partitions and related systems, with emphasis on quality workmanship, safety compliance and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Take accurate site measurements for aluminum doors, windows, partitions and related systems.
• Interpret basic drawings and site instructions to ensure correct fabrication and installation.
• Assist with material estimation and preparation when required.
• Cut aluminum profiles using machines and hand tools according to specifications.
• Assemble aluminum frames, including fixed, sliding and hinged systems, in the workshop.
• Install aluminum hardware such as rollers, locks, handles, hinges and accessories.
• Fit glass panels accurately using gaskets, sealants and approved fixing methods.
• Install aluminum frames on site with proper alignment, leveling and secure fixing with anchors and fasteners.
• Apply silicone and sealants for finishing and weatherproofing.
• Identify and fix minor site issues during installation and follow safety procedures for glass, tools and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, orderly workshop and work cooperatively with supervisors and team members.

Required profile

• Minimum basic schooling; vocational or ITI training in aluminum fabrication or a related trade is an added advantage.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in aluminum fabrication and installation.
• Proven experience in both workshop fabrication and on-site installation is mandatory.
• Strong measurement and material handling skills with attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of aluminum profiles, systems and accessories.
• Basic understanding of technical drawings and site layouts.
• Strong work discipline, time management and ability to work independently or in a team.

Required skills

• Operating cutting machines, power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Practical knowledge of glass fitting, sealing and finishing techniques.
