About the role
The Associate Director of Graduate Academic Advising leads the graduate advising function for LeBow College of Business, shaping a proactive, technology‑enabled experience that supports student success, retention, and career advancement.
Key responsibilities
- Transform graduate advising into a proactive, technology‑enabled model that drives student success and retention.
- Maintain and actively manage an assigned graduate advising population, providing personalized academic and career guidance.
- Design and execute scalable advising processes that blend self‑service tools, success coaching, and strategic advising.
- Implement data‑informed advising strategies using analytics, dashboards, workflows, and student success metrics.
- Leverage AI and digital tools to enhance advising operations, communication, and proactive outreach.
- Improve the graduate student experience through streamlined processes and personalized engagement.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen relationships and support student outcomes.
- Communicate transparently with college leadership through updates, reporting, and strategic insights.
- Plan, develop, and deliver in‑person and on‑campus learning experiences and support orientation programs.
- Manage the advising calendar, academic deadlines, student milestones, and recurring projects.
- Oversee quarterly academic standing reviews and ensure compliance with Graduate College policies.
- Conduct compliance checks of advising records and support continuous improvement through assessment and reporting.
- Design and administer student feedback surveys and focus groups to evaluate advising effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Graduate Enrollment on recruitment, yield, and conversion efforts.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience managing graduate advising populations and implementing innovative advising models.
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to use data and dashboards for decision‑making and early intervention.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder partnership and leadership reporting.
- Experience coordinating orientation, onboarding, and on‑campus learning experiences.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and compliance with university policies.
