Brewing Process Operator – Shift Production & Quality

About the role

The Brewing Process Operator is responsible for running the brewing and associated process areas during assigned shifts. You will ensure production targets are met, quality standards are upheld, and a safe work environment is maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and implement the production plan for the shift.
• Monitor and control production processes using VPO standards such as OWS, Team Rooms, and 5S.
• Perform quality analysis and ensure process quality and productivity.
• Manage waste and by‑products generated during the shift.
• Coach team members and support the Brewing Technician Artisan with asset care activities.
• Maintain safety and health standards and use escalation procedures when needed.
• Execute VPO implementation plans and ensure shift goals are achieved.
• Complete required administration tasks on time.

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12 or National Diploma (or equivalent).
• IOB Certificate, IBD Certificate, and completed IST traineeship.
• At least 6 months to 5 years of experience in a brewing or process‑controlled manufacturing environment, preferably in food/FMCG.
• Understanding of the brewing value chain from raw material transfer to packaging.
• Logical, analytical problem‑solver and team player.

Required skills

• PC literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience using SAP.
• Knowledge of brewing process operations.
