Business Development & Partnerships Associate

About the role

ALX Africa is seeking a Business Development & Partnerships Associate to support its Ethiopia hub. You will work under the BD & Partnerships Manager to execute outbound outreach, qualify leads, draft proposals, and keep multiple revenue workstreams moving.

Key responsibilities

• Execute structured outbound outreach to priority corporate accounts across banking, telecom, government, BPO, hospitality and FMCG sectors.
• Qualify inbound and outbound leads against the Sales Qualified Lead (SQL) criteria.
• Write and submit proposals, concept notes and due‑diligence documentation for corporate training, ecosystem partnerships and fundraising initiatives.
• Maintain and update the pipeline tracker for all three workstreams.
• Support the BD Manager in coordinating a part‑time task force that drives deal progress.
• Ensure that every active deal has the required documents, follow‑ups and tracking to move forward.

Required profile

• Execution‑focused operator who thrives on clear targets and autonomy.
• Strong written communication skills for proposal development.
• Ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams and keep detailed records.
• Experience in business development, sales or partnership roles is preferred.
