Cash Consortium Lead

About the role

The Cash Consortium Lead will provide strategic, operational and coordination leadership for the Ethiopia Cash Consortium (ECC), a partnership of Save the Children, Danish Church Aid, Norwegian Refugee Council, Action Against Hunger, Danish Red Cross and Ethiopia Red Cross Society. Based in Addis Ababa, the role reports to the Senior Programme Lead – ECHO Portfolio and ensures high‑quality, cost‑efficient delivery of multi‑purpose cash assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the consortium management team and serve as the primary coordination point for all partners.
• Ensure harmonised cash delivery modalities, financial service provider selection and assistance packages across project locations.
• Oversee implementation, monitoring and reporting to meet donor (ECHO) expectations and consortium governance.
• Facilitate information sharing, learning and representation in humanitarian coordination mechanisms.
• Manage risk, compliance and child safeguarding requirements, including fraud, bribery and corruption policies.
• Support the development of accountability systems and cost‑efficiency measures.
• Coordinate with the ECWG and other social protection actors to maximise reach.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading multi‑partner humanitarian cash programmes or similar consortiums.
• Strong knowledge of multi‑purpose cash assistance, donor regulations and humanitarian coordination.
• Ability to work with senior stakeholders, NGOs and government bodies.
• Familiarity with child safeguarding Level 2 requirements and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and strategic planning capabilities.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages an advantage.
