Cashier – Fixed‑Term Position in Moyale

About the role

The Cashier will support the Finance Officer in managing cash operations for the response office in Moyale, Ethiopia. This fixed‑term role ensures that all cash and cheque transactions are processed accurately, deposited promptly, and documented in line with organisational policies.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, safeguard, and deposit cash and cheques from field staff.
• Reconcile petty‑cash accounts and prepare revolving‑fund replenishments.
• Process approved cash payments, fuel coupons, and material disbursements.
• Generate daily cash reports and regulatory filings.
• Maintain deposit vouchers and ensure proper tagging of received assets.
• Assist the Finance Officer with payment documentation and verification.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in cash handling or a similar finance role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow financial procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of petty‑cash management processes.
