Cashier

About the role

The Cashier will support the finance team of World Vision’s response office in the Somali Region, Moyale. Reporting directly to the Finance Officer and receiving guidance from the Zonal Coordinator, the role is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of cash, cheques and related financial documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Receive payments from field staff, deposit cash and cheques to the bank, and prepare cash and cheque payments according to directives.
• Handle all bank matters except check‑book collection, reconcile petty‑cash accounts, and ensure timely cash deposits.
• Prepare revolving‑fund replenishments and assist the Finance Officer with payment cancellations and document verification.
• Issue approved cash payments, fuel coupons and store materials, and produce accurate daily cash and regulatory reports.
• Maintain safety of financial assets as cash custodian, tag fixed assets, and administer petty‑cash disbursements.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field (BA or higher).
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar cash handling or finance role.
• Strong knowledge of petty‑cash management and customer handling procedures.
